UK Club sponsor Sailors Society seafarers' bus
UK P&I Club is supporting the work of Sailors Society, in particular their local Port Chaplaincy project, by providing a grant for a seafarers’ bus in the Port of Jakarta.
Sailors’ Society Chaplain Solichin Daniel, who has been providing practical and emotional support to seafarers since 1996, has reached over 9,000 seafarers so far. Solichin previously used his old seafarers’ bus to transport seafarers to local amenities, including shops, pharmacies, and local points of interest. The vehicle was over 10 years old and in need of replacement to ensure the safety of the passengers. UK P&I Club has ensured that this crucial work is able to continue into the future.
