William is the Chief Underwriting Officer, with responsibility for the underwriting strategy. 

Before joining Thomas Miller in September 2022, he was an Active Underwriter and CUO at Newline Underwriting. Prior to that, he worked at Advent Insurance as Active Underwriter, CUO, and latterly CEO, and at Arch Insurance as Active Insurance. He spent the early part of his career in the marine market in both broking and underwriting. 

He has broad experience across many insurance and reinsurance sectors and has previously been involved with a number of market committees including Joint Hull and IUMI Ocean Marine. 

William currently sits on the Lloyd's Register Classification Committee.
