Ed is a Senior Claims Executive based in the New Jersey office, handling P&I claims and FD&D disputes. He specialises in maritime and commercial litigation and arbitration, shipping contract disputes and more.

He joined Thomas Miller in September 2023 after spending five years at a leading US maritime firm in New York, and four years working for another IG P&I Club. Ed formed Carlson and Ryan LLP in 2020, with a focus on representing shipowners, charterers and commodity traders in civil and commercial litigation/arbitration and resolving day-to-day disputes.

Ed obtained his law degree from Temple University School of Law in Philadelphia, and holds an LLM in Maritime Law from Tulane University School of Law.
