Markus is the VP and a Senior Claims Executive.

Markus has a Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco and is licensed to practice law in both California and Hawaii. He was Editor-in-Chief of the University of San Francisco Maritime Law Journal, University of San Francisco School of Law from 1995 to 1996. He litigated at two maritime law firms in San Francisco before starting at Thomas Miller in 2006 where he handled claims for the UKP&I, UK Defence Club and TT Club. 

In January 2018, he left to work for an international commercial insurer, but ultimately returned to Thomas Miller in October 2022. Markus specialises in U.S-based high value maritime personal injury and cargo damage cases.
