2020 Policy Year Charterers Terms and Conditions

The Charterers' Terms and Conditions for the 2020 policy year are available now.  The terms and conditions are now in their own publication in a new format that is easier for Charterer Members and their brokers to use.

Members and brokers can still access the Charterers' Addendum for the current 2019 policy year here.

The Charterers' Terms and Conditions are based on the existing comprehensive cover to which Members worldwide are accustomed but with clearer language and a focus on Charterers alone.

The Terms and Conditions increase the usability by our Members and provide flexibility to develop additional covers as an answer to the changing requirements of Charterers.

The Terms and Conditions have been reviewed from a Charterer's point of view, ensuring the cover remains in line with market practise and meeting Charterers' needs.

The cover remains substantially unchanged and includes the following:

  • Charterers are Members of the Club and although it’s a fixed program, each Member retains a voting right
  • The Omnibus clause grants Directors powers to review and pay claims which otherwise fall outside the scope of cover
  • Damage to Hull (DTH) cover is now part of the Standard cover provided under Clause 2

The general scope of cover set out in detail in the 2020 Charterers Terms and Conditions includes:
