Tom is the Regional Claims Director, with oversight of the P&I claims activity for the region. He is a solicitor and master mariner who specialises in marine casualties, disputes of a technical nature and related claims under contracts of carriage. 

He has eight years' experience as a shipping lawyer at major international law firms, handling litigation arising out of marine casualties, including collision, grounding, salvage, fire and explosion, general average, cargo claims and other marine disputes, from the initial investigation through to proceedings in court or arbitration, as well as the connected 'dry' disputes under contracts of carriage.

Prior to that, Tom spent four years as a marine superintendent and ten years at sea as a Deck Officer, operating worldwide. He holds a Master's degree in Law and an MSc in Maritime Operations. 

Tom represents the UK Club on the International Group committee for Salvage & Wreck Removal and he is a Director of Thomas Miller.
