Patrick is the UK P&I Club’s Sustainability Director and Head of Club Secretariat.

Patrick began his career at sea, serving for 11 years as a Warfare Officer in the Royal Navy. He served primarily in attack submarines but also qualified for surface ship command and ran the surface Fleet Navigating Officers’ course. Patrick then requalified as a solicitor with Ince & Co, where he spent nearly 9 years investigating and handling “Admiralty” and insurance casualty cases; his high-profile cases included the Costa Concordia grounding, the Norman Atlantic ferry fire, and the Ever Smart collision.

Patrick joined the UK P&I Club in 2019 and since 2021, has been responsible for running the UK P&I Club Secretariat and for developing, implementing and communicating the UK P&I Club’s sustainability strategy.  Patrick sits on the International Group Sustainability Committee.
