War Notice of Cancellation – Strait of Hormuz

Due to rising hostilities, the Club’s reinsurers have notified the Club that they are issuing a 24-hour Notice of Cancellation effective from midnight GMT on 12th March 2026 in respect of Strait of Hormuz transit.

The Club is therefore also issuing a 24-hour Notice of Cancellation effective from midnight GMT on 12th March 2026 in respect of Strait of Hormuz transit.

Any vessels planning to transit the Strait of Hormuz with cover under the Club’s write-back Extension of Cover for War Liabilities in the Persian/Arabian Gulf must obtain prior approval from the Club, with rates to be agreed in advance. With effect from the effective time and date of the expiry of the Notice of Cancellation, midnight GMT on 13th March 2026, there is no cover for vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz without prior approval of the Club.

This Notice of Cancellation does not apply to vessels operating within the Gulf or currently anchored, only those transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

The Strait of Hormuz transit defined as follows: by geography / coordinates for start / stop –

a.         Min. Lat             b.         25° 16' 23.6" N (25.2732°) 

c.         Min. Long          d.         55° 9' 53" E (55.1647°) 

e.         Max. Lat           f.          27° 22' 16.8" N (27.3713°) 

g.         Max. Long         h.         57° 20' 31" E (57.3419°)
