OIL POLLUTION IN THE UNITED STATES
TANKER VOYAGE ADDITIONAL PREMIUM SYSTEM – 2001 POLICY YEAR

The Association’s reinsurance arrangements through the International Group Pool remain unchanged for the 2001 policy year. As a result, the Association’s additional premium system for tankers carrying persistent oil to or from the United States will continue for the 2001 policy year on the same terms as applied for the 2000 policy year.
As before, the full text of the U.S. Oil Pollution Clause 20/2/01 will be set out in an Appendix to the Rules and will be incorporated, by reference, in the Certificates of Entry. A lower rate per entered ton will continue to apply to tankers equipped with segregated ballast tanks (SBT) in accordance with the requirements of Regulation 13 of Annex I to MARPOL 73/78.
Premium Rates
(A) Tankers of more than 1,000 GT
Non‑SBT tankers: U.S. $0.085 per entered ton, each U.S. voyage.
SBT tankers: U.S. $0.075 per entered ton, each U.S. voyage.
(B) Tankers of 1,000 GT or less
Non‑SBT tankers: U.S. $0.0425 per entered ton, each U.S. voyage.
SBT tankers: U.S. $0.0375 per entered ton, each U.S. voyage.
(C) Parcel tankers carrying 5,000 m/t or less of persistent oil as cargo (including LOOP or lightening operations)
Non‑SBT tankers: Either U.S. $85 per U.S. voyage or U.S. $1,700 per annum.
SBT tankers: Either U.S. $75 per U.S. voyage or U.S. $1,500 per annum.
(D) Parcel tankers carrying between 5,001 and 10,000 m/t of persistent oil as cargo
Non‑SBT tankers: U.S. $255 per U.S. voyage.
SBT tankers: U.S. $225 per U.S. voyage.
(E) Parcel tankers carrying more than 10,000 m/t of persistent oil as cargo
Non‑SBT tankers: U.S. $0.085 per entered ton, each U.S. voyage.
SBT tankers: U.S. $0.075 per entered ton, each U.S. voyage.
