There have been many collisions between cargo ships and fishing vessels near Japan due to the large number of fishing vessels that operate in the waters in this region, the following tragic accident happened in May, 2021.

Having spent most of his career working in bulk energy shipping at a major Japanese trading house, in which he gained 8 years’ experience in LNG ship operations and commercial chartering and deep sea oil tanker business, Mitsuru joined Thomas Miller KK in October 2019 to handle technical matters and claims as a Technical Advisor.
Japan accedes to the Bunker Convention and the Wreck Removal Convention, in force from 1 October 2020
These Conventions will enter into force for Japan on 1st October, 2020.
