The Club has received the following update from industry association INTERTANKO on the situation in the Southern Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
UK Club Correspondents, GAC, in Yemen, have provided the below Circular outlining the obligation concerning the arrival draft of the ship at Malla docks
The Club has received information that on 29th July & 12th August 2017 a small explosive-laden remotely piloted craft (ERPC) had been utilised in and around the Port of Mocha, Yemen.

Combined Maritime Forces

On 12th June 2017, the Combined Maritime Forces issued a statement to the shipping industry on the recent attacks against merchant shipping in the Gulf of Aden and Bab-el-Mandeb. This statement serves as a reminder to mariners of the importance of following BMP4 and the benefits of registering with MSCHOA and UKMTO when sailing in the High Risk Area and Voluntary Reporting Area. Due to the escalating instability in Yemen and increasing unrest in the region, many countries have begun to withdraw diplomats and personnel from the Yemeni capital city of Sanaa.
