Legal Article: India - The Admiralty (Jurisdiction & Settlement of Maritime Claims) Act, 2017

The Ministry of Shipping in India has issued the attached notification to announce that the above Act will come into force on 1st April 2018. Following this date, the filing of Admiralty Suits, arrests of vessels in India, issues relating to court jurisdiction, etc. will all be decided under this Act.
