US Customs & Border Protection - CBP NY Restricted Shore Leave Policy Revoked
Members were recently notified of a new Shore Leave Policy announced by the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) office in New York to restrict shore leave to crew members in the New York/ Newark port area. The new policy was to have come into effect on 01.11.19.
Instead, on 01.11.19, CBP NY announced the revocation of the new policy. The past practice of issuing conditional landing permits and processing off-signers therefore remains in effect. ECM Maritime Services have provided an updated client alert.
If Members have any questions on the above, your usual contact at the Club will be pleased to assist you.
