From January 2021, a new IMO resolution will be coming into force which will require shipping companies to incorporate cyber security into their safety management systems. In the latest series of “Ask an Expert”, Capt Anuj Velankar talks with Russell Kempley of CyberOwl to speak on the implications of the upcoming changes.
Russell takes us through an interesting presentation on the changes these regulations will bring and how the industry is currently complying with these regulations. In the later Q&A, Anuj and Russell discuss the various areas in which the marine industry can improve to ensure compliance, the current gaps in cyber security and the cyber security landscape in the near future.
