Go Maritime conference- Greece
The UK Club was represented at the recent "Go Maritime" conference held at the Golden Sand hotel on the Aegean island of Chios. The event was organised by the educational platform Isalos.net and Naftika Chronika magazine with the participation of about 360 deck and engine cadets from the Merchant Marine Academies of Chios and the nearby island of Oinousses.
Senior loss prevention executive David Nichol took part in one of the discussion panels on the theme of "Safety and Risk Management at Sea: The role of the deck officer". The Club also had a promotional desk at the venue managed by Claims executive Efcharis Rocanas for the display of UK Club publications, which also provided a good opportunity to interact with the students.
