Our offices follow local customs when taking holidays during the Christmas and New Year holiday period but maintain a roster of duty contacts throughout that time. The London office will close at 1300 GMT on both the 24thand 31st December. Duty executives for the various area groups and local offices are listed in the Emergency & AOH Contacts page. This information is updated to ensure it is current throughout the holiday period.

UK Club managers Thomas Miller won the award for its highly original decision to celebrate its 125th anniversary by becoming the lead sponsor of the Chauncy Maples Malawi Trust, a UK charity which is renovating the 19th century ship Chauncy Maples as a clinic to provide essential medical services to the lakeside people of Malawi. Thomas Miller has already succeeded in raising more than half of the £2 million sum it set as its target just six months ago.

Our Board Director Philippe Louis-Dreyfus, was elected to the post of Connecticut Maritime Association Commodore for the coming year at last week's Shipping 2010 event. The CMA awards this honour annually to "an individual who has significantly contributed to the dynamism, growth and development of the maritime industry."

Whilst in Shanghai for the meeting, Hugo Wynn-Williams seized the opportunity to visit and meet the local staff led by Edgar Wong, as well as admire the new office. Others there to greet him were Shuhan Xu, Ivy Yu, Yi Chen and Jessie Jiang.
UK Club 24th Mountain climb Held in Korea

The 24th Annual UKMC took place last Saturday,15th May at Namhansanseong, about 31 kilometres to the south-east of downtown Seoul.
