Samuel, a Master Mariner, joined Thomas Miller as a Risk Assessor for the Loss Prevention department in 2023. 

Samuel has over 23 years of seagoing experience on a range of vessels. These include container ships, Class II ferries and Class I cruise ships, where he gained the rank of Deputy Captain. In the latter role, he was involved with the development of the company's emergency response procedures and maritime standards. He was also part of the build team for the company's first LNG powered cruise ship. 

In 2019, Samuel started working shoreside for the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) as a Senior Marine Surveyor. During his time with the agency, he conducted survey and inspection work which included Port State Control (PSC) inspections, audits and oral examinations for cadet and deck officer.
